Tim Schmidt makes a surprise release in 2024. Taoes Did you mean Tapes? is the new album of folk stuff and weird little numbers by Tim Schmidt. The release of the album is on 30 July 2024.
TAOES Did you mean TAPES? is released. It has got both instrumentals and slower folk singer-songwriter recordings from on it. All music on this new album was written, performed, recorded, mixed etc. by Tim Schmidt in 2010-2017. “Listening in your headphones would probably be the best” (they add).
“Summertime Blues” is a cover of the rock’n’roll number by Eddie Cochran/Jerry Capehart. True story. The backing vocals on that one and on ”I Was Singing This Song” is by Australian singer/songwriter Lindsay Phillips. It was recorded in Malmö in 2012. The other tunes and sounds are written by Schmidt. The song ”Home (Slower Later)” you might recognize from Slower Things album. And so on… there are 14 wee tracks on it.
I do not know who the feller on the cover is. The painting is ”Blå timmen” (Blue hour) and is by my dear father, Olle Schmidt in 2024. The release of the album happened only weeks after the paint had dried on the little canvas. Once he saw it he made it also his own by linking the father´s legacy to his. The instrumental tune ”Time traveler” was made for an art exhibition of his named ”Time traveller”, 2016.
You will find this music and more on most streaming sites. One may also download it via http://www.timschmidt.bandcamp.com or iTunes etc. Or go find it here on the www.timschmidt.site
This album is a part of a series of records. And I will get back to the matter sooner than {?} might think.
