Tim Schmidt’s folky and dreamy new record ”TAOES Did you mean TAPES” (2024) is something else. There are 14 tunes on it. One is a cover. The ALBUM COVER is based on a painting by Tim´s father Olle Schmidt in 2024 and a text inspired by Google.

The album is really something else. The music too. The songs are both in English and in Swedish. Others are instrumentals.

Here below is some info on three of the 14 songs on the album.

SUMMERTIME BLUES is the Eddie Cochran cover recorded with Lindsay Phillips on backing vocals – it’s entwined with Schmidt’s guitar and vocals and assorted arrangements. On the first song ”I WAS SINGING THIS SONG” Phillips is backing up. Everything on the single was recorded and mixed in 2012.

HOME (SLOWER LATER) one might recognize from album Slower Things. This is however another take. It is named Slower Later as a signal and a greeting to the version recorded in Leipzig. This version I have no information of exactly where and when it was recorded.

HÄNGA DEN PÅ VATTNET … This was released as a single in 2023 and is now finally on a record. This record.
